One night in 1972, Daisy touched on a gilded book in the lounge, streams of memories flowed back. There was an extravagantly lavish party every night across the bay. Guests were giggling over glasses, reveling in the swimming pool as the orchestra played in the back. Fireworks traveled through the darkness of the night. All of this glamor was ephemeral. A gentleman was staring off a place in silence, he threw all of these parties for only her, to see her again. However, he didn't know that things had changed. As time elapsed, feelings elapsed as well. After the nihilistic celebratory extravagance, what is left?
The artist draws on these golden motif elements and pearls to depict the lavish gilded age. “All the bright precious things fade so fast”, but the Gatsby’s spirits will be eternal as the bow tie stays gold.
